Textile Arts for Teens - Bryant Park

Fabric is one of the most important elements in fashion design. Learn about different types of fabrics and how to work with and create them!

Students will learn the differences between common textiles, how to determine what fibers make up a fabric, the science behind fabric plus will learn to weave, dye and print their own custom fabric!

The class will begin by learning about the science behind textiles, they will also visit Mood fabric store to gather swatches based on what they have learned. Dyeing, block printing by hand and professionally printing fabric will all be a part of this fabulous new course - a must for any future fashion designer!

Students will take home their swatch board, custom dyed and printed fabric at the end of the course.

• September 17th through December 10th 2016  - 12 weeks
• Ages 13-17yrs
• Supplies are all included, no extra fees
• Semester Days Off: 10/3, 10/4, 10/10, 10/12, 11/11, 11/23-11/27

Classes meet once per week for 12 weeks. Fall 2016 class options are:
