Private Sewing Lessons

Our private sewing lessons and fashion illustration lessons for children, teens and adults can cover beginner, intermediate and advanced sewing, fashion sketching, and portfolio development. Choose from our menu of projects or create your own!

We work on easy to use Singer sewing machines in our fully equipped sewing studios.

You can even bring in your own sewing machine for a lesson on how to use it!

We do our best to pair you with an instructor who will fit your specific needs. Our individual or group private sewing lessons are sure to have you sewing in no time!

Beginner Sewing Instruction

Like sewing machine operation and a basic project like a tote bag or throw pillow!

Hand Sewing Instruction

Learn to sew with a needle and thread and attach buttons, hem pants, or learn a basic running stitch.

Fabric Shopping and Sourcing in NYC

We know the garment district inside and out! Our guided shopping experience will teach you about fabric types and resources. A perfect addition to sewing lesson!

How to Use Your Sewing Machine

Bring in your machine for a lesson on threading, machine functions, and that pesky bobbin! We will cover all of the basics of set up and machine use with you.

Intermediate Sewing Skills

For example, sewing clothing such as skirts, dresses and basic pants!

Fashion Sketching and Illustration

From the basic Croquis (fashion figure) to fabric rendering our teachers can take your sketching skills to the next level!

Simple Pattern Making and Draping

Our knowledgeable instructors can show you how your body measurements can be made into a basic pattern or sloper. We can also teach the basics of draping on a dress form.

Special Occasion Dresses (Kids only)

Create your own dress for a Bat Mitzvah, prom, Quinceañera, or other life event! Sewing a dress from scratch does take a significant amount of time, so let's plan!

Advanced Sewing Techninques

Such as inserting a zipper, sewing an inset sleeve, or creating a blind hem.

Portfolio Creation Assistance

Perfect for high school & college applications, like the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design.

Private Lesson Sewing Project Suggestions

All private lessons are one on one in a private classroom and cost $75 per hour, each additional student is $25 per hour. Fabric is not included. The below are suggested projects for all sewing levels. Have a different idea? We'd love to help you create your designs.

Tote Bag

Create a handbag to carry-it-all with our classic tote! An easy projects for beginners that reflects your personal style.

Twist Head Band

This oh-so-stylish turban styled headband will have everyone asking "where'd you get that?" Easy to sew, this is a great starter project.

An easy, breezy dress - perfect all year round! Made from stretch fabric this mid-thigh length dress will have you proudly saying 'I made this!'
