Fashion Design and Sewing is not only super fun and fabulous – it teaches elements of math, science and the arts in a real-life hands-on way.
At our fashion studios we welcome home school groups who’re curious about fashion design, sewing and want to learn the art of design. Join us for a multi-week class or a one-day workshop. Our home school groups enjoy discounted pricing for classes during the weekday.

Sewing classes and more!
Courses can be altered to fit your group’s needs. Past home school students have learned to sew and create clothing for themselves (following our after school program projects or choosing from our library), the art of fashion design through illustration, the science of textiles through experimentation, the history of fashion with authentic clothing, entrepreneurship and the math of retail sales.
Our sewing lessons can allow your home school group to create a simple project on the sewing machine, learn to hand sew, or create a custom project that your group decides on!
In entrepreneurship, students conceptualize their own clothing company, this includes a name, logo, and problem solving design!
Our fashion history lesson combines fun activities with the ability to touch and feel real clothing from the past. Our fashion closet goes back to the Victorian Era!
Fashion illustration, proportions, the figure, faces, shading, copic marker techniques, or watercolors can all be incorporated into your group's art lesson.
Textile science will have your home school group examining fabric swatches and fibers! This lesson is filled with fun experiments to teach all about where clothing comes from.
Our retail math group lesson incorporates hands on design as we walk your class through the process of creating, sourcing, and pricing a garment using fabric swatches!
Our lesson delves into clothing waste and teaches students how they can be more mindful consumers. Class ends by making a DIY project out of recycled fabric (non-sewing).
Let us know what your goals are. We can tailor your class using any of the supplies in our studio, our fashion closet, historical garments, or even create fab jewelry!
